does anyone know if the the P155 will be updated at Musikmesse in April this year? it's been over 4 years since it came out!

what's a good price for a used one now considering an imminent update?

Was a replacement announced at NAMM in January? If so, it should soon be available. If not ...

Everyone expected a P155 replacement at NAMM, but it did not materialise.

My money is on Musikmesse.

yes someone even said if it wouldn't be updated at namm they would eat their nord gig bag. i won't name any names smile

any ideas on the updates then? and how long does it usually take from announcement to showroom?

When new products appear in the Winter NAMM, they show up in stores within a few months.

But ... are you looking for something newer/better than the P155? I'm betting the replacement will be little more than a new chrome job and some big-talk marketing terminology ... with no real improvement at all. (This is typical.)

The only real benefit might be that existing stock of P155s will have to be cleared ... often at reduced prices. You might want to grab one of those and skip the replacement model. It's a good choice. The P155 is probably the best unit in its price range.

You might expect a new sound engine which is hugely different from spec but make minor difference in reality. Also an ivory like keytop, which I don't quite like.
I think p155 replacement should be like ydp161 to 162 upgrade.

So if you do not care, you can find a discount p155 and buy it now.

thanks guys. i actually like the ivory over the smooth. based on the current model i think the new model will cost me 1100 plus 12% tax just for the keyboard when it hits the market down the road. is $600 for a used p155 with stand, metal pedal and padded gig bag a good deal?

It sounds like a fair deal. $500 seems like it might be too cheap, and $700 is creeping up on just getting a brand new one w/full warranty for $800-850 (less stand+bag, but still.) Assuming it's in fine working condition of course.

. . . P155 -- new -- $1000.

. . . P155 used, damaged (non-working keys) -- $500.

It sounds like you might have a good deal on the used P155.

Especially if you don't plan on using all keys.

the p155 in question is in perfect working order and it looks very clean. i'm gonna pick it up tomorrow and start playing. i got a lot of helpful info from this site. thanks guys!
