Newman - Simple Lennon McCartney done well as usual Newman. You do sound like him; their songs were always outside the "box" of standardised musical thinking, and all the better for it.

Greener Was that it`s original name? Bit like "Girl from Ipanema" ...
It's the only name I know it by. I seem to recall (I think it was Bill) saying the same thing about Corcovado that I did here once. Must be that the way I play Bossas', they all sound the same
Bill – another couple of great songs. (I've got to work on filling out my playing more, the way you do) Greener - I really liked that. Why not do it again when your new piano is fully set up David - Nice work. I wish I had your long fingers.
Jeff~ You've got a great sense of time and you play Meditation with a great deal of sensitivity. I like this one a lot!
Newman~ Julia is very nicely done. It has wonderful changes and your voice is terrific, as it's one of my favorite tunes. Really good work, short or not!
ladypayne~ Your sense of musicality has really emerged in the past few months! I very much enjoyed both pieces.

Not perfect, but my first contribution for a long time. Yesterday (once more!) but still having trouble with some of the chord shifts.
This is also my first video, with audio and video synced from different streams. The audio is mp3, rendered from MIDI in Pianoteq and the video is from my webcam. Please tell me if you notice any improvements in the quality of the sound, from my previous videos, which you can find in my YouTube channel.

Yes, Emin7sus4 and A7. I probably could and should have skipped some of the middle notes, to make it easier to play and put more emphasis on the melody notes.

My comments on the latest additions.
BillM, that Medley was played with so much emotion, with the correct dynamics in all the places. I took the opportunity to watch your Here There and Everywhere cover. I'm a Beatles fan and you capture the beauty and spirit of the ballad very well. David Ruzicka, those two pieces are not familiar to me, but very beautiful. Newman, great job on the Lennon ballad, Julia. Greener, I enjoyed Meditation, kind of jazzy. Well done. Ladypayne, very well played, When You Wish Upon a Star and Down By The Sally Gardens. Amaruk, that was beautiful, the Lord of the Rings theme and the shots from the movie added an extra flavour.

Ladypayne Great arrangement! Lovely pictures of Alaska too. What camera do you use?
Weiyan Your own composition? I must say that you are advancing very fast. Loved it!! Great job! It is always great to see your piano action in your movies.
Inlanding I love Einaudi's new age style of music and you do him great justice with this performance. Great job!!
Peterws Famtastic performance of a great classic. I really like your camera angle. Windscreen holder for the camera… great idea!!
SwissMS What a great tune! I loved it and you play it very well!!
Elssa It sure was wonderful and your trademark arm crossings are nice! Great job!!
David Winter romance - what a great original piece! Loved it!! The music really flows thru your fingers. Your Czerny performance was equally good. Your piano sounds great. What model is it? Thanks for sharing!!
BillM What a great medley. I like it how you can get inspired by posts here and go off and create something like this. Great playing and singing as always! I always look forward to hear your tunes here.
Newman It is not easy to perform after Bill like this but your Lennon/Beatles performances are equally amazing! I am impressed how you can pull one hit after another like this. Great job Newman!!
Greener Sound test? I was expecting… 1 - 2 - 3 or something like that. This performance was very good. What ever recording parameter you tested I think the end result came out great!
Pianotehead Great job! I liked it. You managed to sync things up perfectly which can be quite tricky. Great angle for the camera too. How did you secure your webcam in this video? Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Amaruk, for the kind words. A picture is worth a thousand words, so I'll post a picture of my setup. I put an iron I had across two of the legs of a tripod and let the webcam sit on it. Quite unorthodox, as you can see, but it worked!

Hello, this thread I think is amazing! I enjoyed every recording. I have only just joined this forum yesterday, I hope it is OK if I add a video here. My camera is not fancy and I had to move it so far away to avoid the 'fuzzy' sound from the loud notes. I will work on a solution to that.
This is Sally's Song from Nightmare Before Christmas movie. It is my 'take a break' song when I am getting frustrated with what I am working on. I apologize for it being so choppy, I am still just learning.

This video is private...you need to make it public for us to see and hear it.

Pianotehead Yer doin` just fine, man! Those chords don`t sound easy. If you`re playing what`s written, you`re doin better than I would; I play what I find amenable and I`m too old to change now! Things will flow soon, believe me. You`ll find yer own style.

Amaruk You obviously had a great time putting this together. I know how ya feel; it is fun. But it also leaves you with little time to do other things . . .
Good stuff on a good piano! That reverb is one o` the best I`ve heard.

Codi Sally`s doin well this month, she`d be pleased! That piano`s loud! What sort is it, a Bechstein? Have you tried placing the Mic a bit further from the piano? . .It has a lovely tone to it. Keep practising; it`ll come realsmooooooth soon enough!

Thank you peterws, this was played from memory. It's basically home chords in F major. Mostly major, minor and some sevenths plus one sus chord, Em7sus4. It seems to me the Beatles songs are a good way to study and learn chord progressions in rock and pop music.

peterws - It is a Wurlitzer circa late 1920's. Thank you I keep practicing! I can play it fast until I get to that last part it always gets me hung up.

Pianotehead - this is coming along. You might consider slowing down the intro chords a bit - there seems to be a slight tempo shift when you get into the verse. I really like your chord choices. The sound is very crisp. What I like most about the recording is that I heard no high end hiss or low end rumble.

Amaruk - I won't even ask how you put together such a professional looking and sounding video. As an old fogey I've never seen the Lord of Rings movies but the music is a delight. Fabuous job.

Thank you BillM, the intro was actually taken from another version. In the tutorial video I used, the teacher came in with a few half note chords, but I decided to go with eight note chords in the right hand. I'll probably Get Back to Yesterday later.
I'm happy with the sound though some of the guys in the digital forum thought it was lousy. Pianoteq does a fine job of rendering from MIDI to WAV, and their samples are way better than my former recordings straight from the room. I used FFMPEG to sync the two sepereate sources, the MP3 I made from the Pianoteq WAV file and the video file, with the video's sound track muted.
Codi, this was very well done. It's amazing - as I've been on the hunt for better recording sound via the digital road - that the acoustic pianos always sound good, no matter how primitive the recording gear is. However, if you want improvements, I understand many people use a Zoom H4, or place microphones on or close to the piano.
