Does anybody here want to take part in a new piano related project? I think there is so much talent here on Piano World, and ABF in particular, and wouldn't it be fun if we could use this talent in a new way?

This is what I am thinking: Let's create a children's story together!

We set the story on a magical island called 'The Piano Island' and the name of the story could be 'The Piano Island Adventures'. We then use original piano music as background music for our story. We create one chapter at a time and for each chapter we have a casting call for story writing, voice, photo, video, and piano music etc.

Piano music One person creates a some simple soft piano music that we can use as background music to our story.

Story writing One person writes a short story that ties in with previous chapters using the same characters and perhaps introduce new characters when needed. Cliffhangers are welcome!

Voice When the story is completed the writer sends it to a person who reads out loud while recording it.

Photo We need a person to take a some pictures for the story. These pictures will be used as a slide show in youtube. I think it would be fun if we selected Lego figures to represent our characters in the story and then we photoshop them onto the background pictures.

Video This person puts it all together and uploads it to youtube. We create a new youtube account for this and upload all chapters to it. We then create a play list that links all chapters together.

The key to this project is collaboration and having some fun with piano music!

What do you all think? Any volunteers for chapter one?

Great Mark and Euan!!

I can do the video part.

Any takers for piano or voice?

Mr Super-Hunky, do you want to be part of this? Your lovely "A Star Named Apple/ New Beginning" from the latest recital would be perfect as the piano music for chapter one I think.

Amaruk, Mr Super-Hunky piece would work very nicely. I wonder if we get a time down on the first chapter if he could record his piece to adjust for the story time? I also wonder if he could do it using his Mason B.

We are still looking for someone to voice the first chapter to the story. Anyone have a great story telling voice?

Sure, I would love to be part of this project. I'm flattered to be asked to supply the music but I would prefer to come up with a unique score for this project. Don't worry however, I can do it as I've got lots and lots of them.

Just tell me what you want the theme to sound like and I'll put it together.

This is what I love to do. Actually, it's what I do when nobody is lookin'!

This sounds fun and I would like to see as many ABF members involved as possible. Possibly many different chapters including the stories, pictures and music from lots of different members.

Great idea.

Although I don't have the skills to contribute to the creating, I DO have a captive audience of over 800 elementary school kids coming through my computer lab each week.

I have a ready-made audience who are more than willing to watch and, undoubtedly, critique! wink

That would be even better doing the score more based on the story and video/pictures. It would also allow you to time the music to the story time line. I'll send you a copy of the first opening chapter via PM. When we get the video done with the voice over, then you could work on the music.

We still need a quality type voice to do the reading of the story...

This is a great idea. You wouldn't like my reading voice, I don't think, but I'll keep an eye out and maybe when work settles down I could contribute a chapter smile

This is what is so great about the internet, and PW in particular smile

Absolutely, to have music tailored to the story would be fantastic!

Indeed, the goal here is to involve as many as possible!

I can't wait to see what pictures we will be able to come up with as our members are all over the world! Very exciting!!
