Carefully read up chaps on the “backwash”
from wdot who also bought a Yamaha C7 ...
what a grim lifestyle!

“Good luck with the soundproofing.
When we built our house we had soundproofing installed in the walls and ceiling of our living room.
Well. My Steinway L sounds really good in the living room, but nobody can really watch television out in the family room even if I close all the doors.
And there is no way my daughter in the bedroom upstairs could sleep through my playing (she's off at college now). We made accommodations.”

Why not build a bombproof studio in the garden and
park the battleship Yamaha C7 therein?

But don’t leave any doors or windows open,
otherwise the neighbours might start throwing stones.

PS I’m quite happy with my Grotrian Steinweg upright ...
No fuss, no bother ... must make a cup of tea.

Don’t forget chaps, the flimsy argument for buying a Grand ...

“After a year of being incredibly frustrated with my upright at home,
knowing that if I practised at home too much
THAT I WOULD PLAY POORLY
FOR MY TEACHER AT MY LESSON”.

Spare a buck?

I think it's OK not to be that interested in posting a pic of the piano. I mean, I've never posted pics of mine, except by accident. grin

I believe that's the only way you know how. whistle

haha

The reason why I'm so eager to see pics is because,

1- I want to see how it fits in a home. (mine is only a 5'7)

2- I'm hoping he got it in satin ebony because I could just stare at pics of satin ebony grand pianos all day every day.

I'm just absurdly busy this semester! I just got back from a choir tour through the UK and now have to finish a composition this week and have to finish memorizing/learning my Rachmaninoff by the end of next week, so it's crunch time! Plus, I forgot that while I was gone the action was getting regulated and hammers voiced, and it's still out at the shop....so I don't even have an instrument at home for another week! frown. I could go grab some pictures now but there would be no keys or hammers, :P.

That might be interesting actually. grin

Anyway, good luck with your practicing the Rachmaninov. They're nice pieces. smile
