How can you have a "dry" humidifier? Is it an Air-Washer style with the rotating disks?

No idea, I know they call this one a evaporative humidifier. Basically others that I have tried either created visible vapor or mist..and/or where hot running and you could see the humidity around the unit itself sweating...these ones you cannot really tell they are working except for the fans.

I have one just like it and placed it under my piano during the dry winter months when I was in WI. It will be just fine. It's the vapor/mist kind you don't want.

The video sounded right nioe. There`s one in my local piano shop, and I enjoy playing it. Coming from me, that is high praise. It has a pure tone. WE WANT TO HEAR YA MAN!

Thanks guys for all the comments. Is good to share something like this with people that can truly understand the feeling. Of all my friends only my teacher could really understand it. I promise to record something but trust me, I am just starting my path so you can say this piano is way above my level but its also a great inspiration for me to spend even more time since the sound is so sweet. peterws, glad to hear you liked it too! I tried other Baby Grands on that price range and always came back home a bit disappointed until I tried this one.

Guys now that i can see everything around the Piano, after the inital shock, I want to make the surroundings better looking. That humidifier there does not look very pretty. Do you think it will be a bad idea to put it against the wall but under the piano? Then I will get some better matching tables with plants on either side. Like I said, the humidifier has no mist or vapor but I don't want to take risks without asking. Thanks

How 'bout . . . getting a Dampp-Chaser system for the piano and putting the humidifier in another part of the room? If your new plant tables were slightly smaller, there should be additional room and still serve the same purpose with the humidifier on the floor, but not directly under the piano. BTW-Living plants help add to the RH. http://www.pianolifesaver.com/Have you figured out if your piano is male or female? (other thread) We await a name!

Yes actually that is the reason I bought that plant as I was reading about humidity and pure air in the room so I want to get another one. I guess I will just place the humidifier on the bigger tablet on the left for now and the plant on the right side of the piano and get a nice framed pic on that wall. No name yet..not sure if I can get used to it being a girl...see in Spanish at least, piano is for sure male, so is a bit hard to get used to it...but I would love to call it a girl name..but my GF my not like my choice

Hey guys, quick question.
They did not put Caster cups so they are coming back on Saturday to do it. Looking at the pics...do you think I can place the piano on a different way in that small area like diagonally to look better? I just dont see it working due to the small space and now I have a pic centered on that back wall so it may look odd but just wondering.

Beautiful piano; thanks for sharing and congratulations!
As for location, you could go diagonal or some other angle (just make sure the closed side is toward the wall), but I don't think you really need to.
Enjoy! Mike

I like angles and prefer for it have a bit more room from the wall, but I'm not sure that's really possible in that room. And, to be clear, that's more a matter of preference than anything else; that's why i think leaving it as-is would be ok. Here's how I have ours; I think you could probably do something similar, if you wanted:

That looks gorgeous and it sure gives it a very nice perspective when placed diagonally. I will give it a shot ...nothing to lose but a few minutes. Thanks for sharing that pic!

Hey Shaolin, check this out: http://www.pianobuyer.com/fall12/93.htmlIt talks a lot about piano placement in the room. I agree with Mikeheel above; I like it placed at an angle. A lot depends on the room and how much space you have to work with. It's surprising how you can change the perceived sound of the instrument just by moving it around.

Try putting it into the corner. You may get an enhanced bass response which just could surprise you . . and then all you have to do is convince yourself that it looks good there! Ya can easy do that . . . .

angle placement makes the piano dominates the room, which is nice..

A lot depends on the room and how much space you have to work with. It's surprising how you can change the perceived sound of the instrument just by moving it around. I have always been involved with Audio and used to work for an online Speakers company and that link indeed mentions many of the same things you need to look for when placing speakers in a room and my concern about placing my piano in a corner. If that area was bigger then I could place it diagonally easier without having to corner load and make the bass boomy. Thanks for the link! Try putting it into the corner. You may get an enhanced bass response which just could surprise you . . and then all you have to do is convince yourself that it looks good there! Ya can easy do that . . . . I guess its worth checking but I want a balanced sound more than anything else. But then again is only 5' so maybe it can use some bass enhancement and when the whole setup is done by the tech, it could still sound great plus have extra bass.:) That wall though has the window and is the area where the Sun hits hardest for the few months it gets hot here in Utah so I would need to get thicker curtains or blackout cloth to make sure no sunlight reaches the piano. angle placement makes the piano dominates the room, which is nice.. Yep many pics I have seen clearly show that when placed diagonally it just grabs your attention. I wonder if its possible to move it around with those Caster cups without needing extra help so I can experiment....

I would not put it in a corner. Maybe rotate it a bit so that the sound radiates more into the room

Guys I got the Caster Cups installed and now got a side effect. When I am playing more spirited, the piano tends to move back and forth a little but enough for me to notice and gets a bit distracting. Is this normal or is the tire supposed to be fully locked inside the cup? I am considering removing them but then again, the carpet will suffer

Lock the casters! Point the caster wheels, on the front legs, at a slight angle toward the center of the piano. A very slight angle will do a lot.

If there are locks on them, do engage those locks. Also, you will want to make sure the wheels are at an angle so it's harder to get them moving.
