My neighbor is selling one for $2000, what do you guys think? is it a good deal on such an instrument? I don't have a piano at the moment and I live in an apartment. A digital seems like a good fit for me. Is there anything else out there in the $2000 range thats good? I've tried the Yamaha's Arius and Clavinovas, although they sound very good but I did not like the feel of the keyboad...

Thanks for all your help, first post here smile

$2,000 for an eleven year-old Yamaha DP??? Was your neighbour wearing a mask and brandishing a gun when they made this offer??? For $2,000 you'd be far better off buying a Kawai ES7, Kawai CE220, or a Roland FP-7F, all of which have a far superiour action and sound engine than this old Yamaha DP.

Cheers,

K.

Kevin, this is a Disklavier Grandtouch, featuring a 'real' GP action, and is arguably a precursor to the current AvantGrand instruments.

Despite its age, I believe such a piano in good condition could still be rather valuable.

Cheers,
James

Oops...my bad. blush I didn't bother looking up the model number and simply assumed that it was one of the lower-end models; I stand corrected. Thanks for the clarification, James! smile

Thanks for the replies.

Kevin,

I know it's rather pricy thats why I asked in the first place if it's a good buy. I did not try any of these, Kawai ES7, Kawai CE220, or a Roland FP-7F, so I don't know how they feel like compare to the DGT2. I think I would try to find a dealer that carry them as try them out. I did try the newest yamaha DPs, CVP 601/605/609, 501/509, and the CLP440. None of them feel as good as the DGT2 though...
