So, we're all musicians here and we comment about music and such. But only some share their music. Well here's an impromptu, imperfect performance I practice before work and today I recorded this on my AG N2.

This was 1st and only take and it's got plenty of errors and had no idea what I wanted to play. The song is of course "Have you met Miss Jones." I recorded it live on my Zoom after I internally recording it.

@36251,

An alternative to posting a video is making an audio recording (just mp3 audio) as it can be stored at box.com. All you need is a stereo audio cable from the piano to the computer and you can record into a free program like Audacity. And, a link can be shared like this:

Nice job on not an easy tune. The bridge is full of pitfalls. It can be practiced separately from the rest of the tune. I know if I don't play the song for awhile, and someone calls it at a fairly quick tempo, it might take a pass or two before it feels solid again.

I noticed you don't use the |Abm7 Db7| on bar 7 of the first ending. Almost everyone I play that with uses that sequence there. I think it breaks up the *sameness* of the sound of those changes nicely. Also listening to what you're doing, I'd try to incorporate the A7 +5b9 sound on beat 3 of bar 5 on both 1st & 2nd endings, to set up the Dm7 in the next bar. I know it goes by real fast but it's a nice harmonic connection to try and make happen. Also you always seem to go to the F# dim. on the second bar of all 3 endings, which is cool, it's how it was originally written, but more often I use

|F Maj7 Bb7+11 | Am7 D7 | for the first 2 bars. Just another option for your lines.

Also on the beginning of the last 8 the chromatic move of |F Maj7 E7 +5 | Eb7 D7| works nicely as well.

I like the sound of the AG. Like I've often said, I wish I had one for the house... cool

Dave Ferris, we do the same changes for the first two bars of the A section.

On the last A (after the bridge), I use Bø7, Bb7| Am7, D7| just to change it around.

Most of my work is solo so it really doesn't matter what changes I use since I'm also the bass player (and the drummer).

Yeah Dave..coming down from the Flat 5 works just as well too. I don't use it on this tune particularly, but on other tunes like- I thought about you, They can't take that way from me, In a sentimental mood. Just a few that come to mind right off the top of my head. Oh yeah the first chord on the bridge in Jobim's "Meditation". Yeah it's a great device, I milk it to death... smile cool

Thanks for listening and giving me some helpful tips. I messed up the harmonic time a lot but I did find some redeeming qualities in the vibe, tempo and length of tune to venture into public listening. I can tell it should help motivate me to keep on working at it.

Getting to record quickly on AG, is one of it's useful features. I know most DP's have this feature but I do think the AG's sound system makes its nice to listen back on.

Thanks also Dave for chiming in. It's not the first time and I appreciate the time. Give me some links so I can listen to you. I do remember in the past something you posted. - Peter

Gotta love listening to Jazz musicians talk!

Peter, thanks for sharing, made my morning. Nice sound. Spooky not to see the keys moving. Wonder why the N3 doesn't have the moving keys like the Diskklavier models? Would have been a nice addition for playback.
