Im looking for the best DP I can get for around $400. I know this is low but this is all I can afford at this time. I am considering right now either a Yamaha P-80 for around $330 or a Casio PX-130 for $380. Both used. I dont need a lot of sounds. Just a good piano sound and a realistic action. What are your thoughts on these two pianos? Can anyone recommend something for me? Thank you.

Be careful about the P-80. It's pretty old and that run had a problem with the keybeds. Yamaha was good about field replacing them but who knows if this piano had that done already, or if they would support it at this point if it hasn't. It would certainly be a gamble.

You can get a new Casio CDP-120 or a new yamaha p35 for about $450. These would probably be better choices and include a warranty.

Warm Regards

I own a PX-135 (identical to PX-130 except for some minor differences in color scheme and two additional piano tones totally dispensable) and I'm happy with it, it's a great instrument for that price and weight. Both has now been surpassed by the new PX-150 but I still think they are nice options. For the price you can buy it, only if it's on optimal condition almost as new, I think it may be a good deal.

EDIT: 380$ is a bargain in Europe but I just now thought that Casio has much lower prices in the U.S. A new PX-150 costs $600, much cheaper than in Europe. This must be had into account.

I paid $453 for a demo unit Casio PX-150. Someone else mentioned the Yamaha P35. Those units might be worth a look. Refurbished or demo units are likely as good or better than most used units.

There are also coupons offered by the major online vendors. A person usually has to call to get the discount because online checkout will reject them.
