This is a rubato version of Softly as a Morning Sunrise. It's unrehearsed 1st take, recorded first internally on AG N2, then I used Zoom Q3HD to record it live.

I didn't use much sustain pedal and is open enough to hear AG's strengths and short comings, not to mention mine blush

Is this a MIDI recording on the AG and then a microphone recording of the AG playing back the MIDI recording through its speakers?

If so, can you make a direct digital recording of the AG without the speakers/microphone?

I just can't get into a "performance" where the player isn't there and I'm just watching an inert keyboard. Can't you just make the same recording with you actually playing?

It was just an easy way to record it. There's plenty of static videos at YouTube. I need to get the patch chords, so i can record directly from the piano. Right now the camera/mics would be at the wrong spot to record the audio

I tried to put the camera/mics in a spot that would be where the player would hear the instrument.

Why make a video and not just upload the recording to Soundcloud?

That's a possibility. Another is to record yourself with the video camera and save the audio file separately, then use the recorded audio file to replace the audio track in the video. I've done that. It was super easy and the results were great. The only hassle is starting it in the right place so it syncs up but I found that I can be off by a bit and it still looks great.

I posted this here so demonstrate the sound of the AG N2 live from the player's perspective. The video shows off this.

I joined soundcloud but have never uploaded to it yet. One wor why I haven't yet - just Lazy!

The camera mic audio isn't good enough to depict the difference between the player position and another perspective.

All things considered, if you change your objective people would (I would at least) enjoy seeing your hands perform a song even if the audio is not very good.

I think I got what there was to get out of your first video.

The next mountain to climb is seeing the live performance.

You're probably right, going with the same idea twice wasn't very creative and so close in days. It was fun while it lasted smile
