Hi everyone, I appreciate and gave a great deal of thought to your input. At the end of the lesson, I asked student if she was still interested in continuing piano lessons. She said not so much. I told her I sensed that from some recent changes I've noticed. I agreed that we could retire the ensemble piece we'd worked on for 6 months. I asked her if she enjoyed the other pieces she was working on and she said yes. I suggested a break after the recital and she agreed. I will really miss her if she doesn't return, but truthfully, I think she is stretched so thin with her school schedule and after school activities, and the addition of guitar lessons, that piano practice is lagging. I hope she returns, but if she doesn't, I'm hopeful she continues piano in the future, and I told her so.

A nice solution.

And--- what do you know--- once again, talking it over directly with the person, leads to a good outcome. That's three-for-three on PW, just this week alone.

Maybe she'll miss you more than she thinks.

I wish you and your student the best of luck. It sounds like you two reached an agreement.
