Could you scan the music and put it up on this site? I doubt many of the pianists on here own those method books, except for the teachers maybe. Make sure it isn't copyrighted.

Oh, I looked at my Piano Book and It Is Copy righted so I can't scan It. If the piece you are learning is the actual rendition of Original Rags, published in 1899, then that piece, like all Joplin ragtime, has long since entered the public domain and you needn't worry about the copyright. You might have a rearrangement or reduction though and that's possibly still covered by copyright. Here's a link to Joplin's "Original Rags": http://conquest.imslp.info/files/imglnks/usimg/c/c2/IMSLP03061-Joplin-OriginalRags.pdf. Is that the piece you are working on? If so, then is there a particular measure causing problems? Alternatively, is it just ragtime syncopation that's proving difficult? Getting your hands to move independently can be challenging to learn. If it's the actual notation and explication of the rhythms that is confusing, it might help you to look at the six exercises in Joplin's "School of Ragtime" http://www.ragtimepiano.ca/images/schoolofrag.pdf. While this isn't by any means an exhaustive primer on ragtime, he's got some notation in the exercises that tries to demonstrate how the duration of notes in the bass clef relates to the duration of notes in the treble.

Yes, I do have a teacher. Its just sometimes that It helps to have someone other than your teacher to explain In a diffrent way.

One option is to download the YouTube video from BachScholar and play it slowly on the VLC Media Player. That way you can study his hand movements and finger choices.

If you have a smartphone, you can make a video of what your teacher plays for later review. There are even apps to slow down the video at replay. I do this all the time at my lessons and find it is very helpful.

While "Fair Use" is an increasingly marginalized aspect of copyright, if you had some specific questions about the rhythm in a specific part of your piece, you'd probably be reasonably in the clear if you scanned in and uploaded an image of just that short excerpt along with your questions.
