The above words were from a Steinway's voicing master that I found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ez04D5QzEYs .

While surfing on the web to look for Steinway Hall London (http://www.steinwayhall.co.uk/) as mentionned by joe80 in my thread at
http://www.pianoworld.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/2048192/ ), I landed on http://www.steinway.fr/ and found a so interesting documentary on Rubeinstein’s visit to Hambourg Steinway in 1966.

The documentary is a jewel, having so many interesting annecdotes such as collecting is a passion of Rubeinstein, he had Chopin’s passport, a different version of the famous Fantaisie Impromptu never published of the Chopin, which has much more detailed in the bass lines, modulations, the counterpart, etc… It seems like Rubeinstein could "feel" authors better when having access to these things.

How Rubeinstein perceived touch and tone of his belowed, familiar piano after works done by Hambourg Steinway. Then the love and passion of piano shared between the artist and technicians, kind of “ I/we can not be me/us without you”…

Then Rubeinstein's music on the newly fixed piano.

Thanks Hoola for the Rubenstein link. It is very interesting and I paused it just to say thanks! Gotta get back to it now.

It's much easier to bash a Steinway than it is to play one.
