Bebo Valdés RIP
http://www.npr.org/blogs/ablogsupreme/2013/03/22/175080694/bebo-vald-s-giant-of-cuban-music-is-dead

Bebo was a gentleman. An elegant, succinct and very cool pianist (he lived not far from where I live). He will be missed.

One of my favorite pianist of all time, too bad I missed him when he was playing with Cigala a few years back in Malaga.
Lagrimas negras album is a true work of art and will become a classic for generation to come.

Thanks again Chris for introducing me to Bebo.
I'd really enjoy to hear some of your playing.

I really admired him and his work. I was introduced to Bebo's music rather late, through "Calle 54" and shortly after the 2010 Animated film Chico y rita (Highly recommend it) and haven't stopped listening. The duo album with his son is sublime. And the last scene from Buena vista club where's he forms a duo with his son Chucho is tear-jerking...or the work with Diego El Cigala. I could go on...
