nice piano

how come some pianos don't have thier cheekblocks the same size? this one the bass side is wider than the treble side.

It has to do with the internal design. Bass strings are overstrung and at a higher angle than the tenor and treble. When lining up the keys and strike points, the action is to the right of center.

For this same reason, it may be more exaggerated on medium and smaller uprights than on taller ones.
