Hi, thanks!
Pretty new here. My name is Hilmar. I am a composer based in the Netherlands and I have been creating a new piece of piano music since April 5th 2012 as a podcast and blog.

The recordings are done through strickt rules:
I only use an iPhone with a stereo microphone.
There is no editing, apart from fade-in, fade-out and volume enhancement.
The total time of creating and recording can't exceed 15 minutes.

So far I haven't missed a day, although I did create a couple of buffers due to travel and accommodation, a couple of times.

I would love to find out what you think about it.
Everything is free, and I plan to keep it that way, although I must mention that I am looking at monetization methods. so if anyone has advise on how to pursue that, I would be most grateful!!!

The site is DailyPianoPieces.com

Thanks again for your time and all the best!

Sincerely,

Hilmar

I think it is a good idea. I tend to believe that all would-be composers would do well to write music every day.

As for monetizing, many use YouTube to draw traffic to their site and sell ads on their site. You might take the best of what you have, and make some short videos and post them on YouTube, though daily might be too much because that can clutter your YouTube channel so no one video becomes popular.

You might find a videographer to partner with. Many even a team because you are so prolific at writing music. Some successful YouTube musicians, are competent to be sure, but what draws the traffic is often a combination of video and music. Understand that most computers have low quality audio, and YouTube is definitely low quality audio.

Now that sounds like a perfect marriage to me!

Hilmar,
I enjoyed your Rest Your Soul. It is Irving Berlin and Vincent Youmans seventy-five years later, but still very nice flow, dynamics, and playing.

Hilmar:

You got a great concept here, nice work.

Have you considered putting ads on your site? That's one way to monetize it that still allows you to let people listen for free.

FYI: You can work with Google to host ads. That was the thought I had in mind.
