I'm really sorry that this has come so soon, but...
As some members already know from PMs and stuff the struggle in this stunning economic depression that Greece is going through is so uphill that it's impossible to win!
The idea was to sustain production of new scores from living composers, that would appeal to the general public. Based on my computer games experience I always knew that products are ready to 'fly out the window' very easily. With the added bonus that classical music does not have an expiration date, like computer games do, I was always very confident that things will work out.
Alas, this is not the case at all.
This is what will happen next.
1. According to the contract I have to send the scores back to the composers. I seriously hope they can handle the shipping fees, cause I can't. 2. Any remaining scores will be burned down. 3. I will close down my music studio, fire my accountant, notify everyone that Editions Musica Ferrum are... dead. 4. I guess that this means that any of you that've bought scores will be on to something. I mean some scores will be rare, considering they won't be sold again.
It's been a short, but amazing trip everybody! I will be logging on to PianoWorld much less now, since I'll be concentrating on my move to Azerbaijan!
Take care and goodbye!

I have a hunch, but I'm too scared to say it!

I hope you will be back soon! I am sorry about Musica Ferrum... It is a tough time. Many companies close down around here too.

Nikolas, I am sorry to hear this.
Please make sure you are thinking as clearly as possible and are examining all of the options that might be available to you. Discuss decisions with close friends you trust. See if there might be a way to close everything that is bleeding cash flow while not burning bridges for a possible future re-launch.

Nikolas, I was going to buy two copies of Piano Stories this week. Is this now impossible?

Hehe Do you think it is an April Fool's prank? Either that or I'm a sociopath who laughs at the misfortune of others.

I hear Azerbaijan is nice this time of year. To answer the question on your web site, yes I am aware that Greece is ahead of the US in regard to time. What I wasn't aware of was whether there is an April Fools tradition there. That question seems to have been answered. Good luck in Azerbaijan!

It sounds dreadful. Everyone I shared it loves your score. I hope we can somehow keep in touch.

Anyone know the time difference between here and Greece? Well, that depends. Where is "here"? There are six time zones in Canada. Greece is GMT +2; Canada is GMT -31/2 (Newfoundland/Labrador), GMT-4 (Atlantic), GMT-5 (Eastern), GMT-6 (Central), GMT-7 (Mountain), and GMT-8 (Pacific). Regards,

"Here" is there when you are in Azerbaijan.
Please hear what I'm trying to say.

Right "now" it's 22:20 in Greece... And April's first is about to end in a couple of hours... So... April's Fool Everybody! It worked for a few people, but most weren't fooled I guess... Some further info on the background of the original post: 1. Yes Greece is not doing well, but EMF is doing just fine (which is very positive in a miserable world overall...). We are actually about to publish more than 10 new scores... 2. I would never ever ever ever burn any score, no matter contract, lawyers or whatever! 3. My wife IS actually in Azerbaijan, so the country didn't come up randomly. But I'm just not about to move there. 4. And certainly I would not quite post and be a member of PianoWorld. Thanks everyone.

Nikolas :
I think that was a pretty bad April Fool's joke. It's one thing to play a joke that (eventually) simply fools everyone, harmlessly, caught in it. It's quite another - and in bad taste, I think - to perpetrate one that raises both personal sympathy and genuine concern for your situation when there was nothing to be concerned about.
Bad call!
