I get that Bruce... You're right probably, but in my defence: I did PM everyone who posted right after they did post in order to let them know that it's a joke, and I did mention some difficult things (burning scores and the such)...

But you're right... It was probably a bad call, but I hope it wasn't perceived as a call for sympathy or anything like that... :-/

Well, Nikolas, that being said, I am glad to hear that the situation is not as it initially indicated.

Don't feel bad, you are supposed to fool people, and you only put yourself (and your stockholders?) in the line, so it's fine. Those who are fooled sometimes get offended, but that's the tradition anyway grin

I have to admit that what shocked me was the thing about burning scores (talk about lack of empathy for people...). But maybe I did somehow predict that it cannot be true...

It took me less than 30 seconds to figure out it was a joke. I was burned by a cruel joke done by the local sports talk radio way back in 1992, so ever since then I'm always vigilant when April 1st rolls around.

Kudos to you, Nikolas. Kudos.

ha It was a rhetorical question. It was clear it was a joke by then (hence the smilies). No Schadenfreude!

AZN, you are sharp! I did not get that at all until Nilolas PM'd me. Good thing he did cause I was just about e-mail'ing my friends not to order the scores..it's burnt (oh how sad it sounded!). Glad it was a joke. I wish I could get back at him next year but I'm not as creative as he is. It was a good one.

I'm so glad it was a joke. Here's a funny one printed in today's Seattle Times: Shocking news

I wasn't either. In fact I didn't even think about it. I was about to fly to Greece (or Azerbaijan or whatever) and do a suicide watch.

Almost. smile

I do realise that. I was playing along. It was my post that acknowledged the joke.

Exactly! wink

But I seriously was hoping that my happiness with the award and all wouldn't be forgotten that soon either...

And as farmgirl said: I PMed people immediately to let them know about the joke..

NIKOLAS!!!

I saw your initial post in the morning before going to work (the first day of work at a new job) and felt so sad about it... Just found out at 9pm that it wasn't real.

What the heck? April Fools jokes aren't supposed to be so... *believable* ! smile

Glad to hear everything's fine!

You had me worried! (Hadn't read all posts, but at least far enough to find it was an April Fool's joke.

Whew. Now I can relax.

Best wishes, Nikolas!

Bad call!

Nah.. it wasn't that bad! I've seen worse! But it's difficult to play a prank in a forum...

Haha that reminds me of what I did on the 1st - me and my friends often play practical jokes on each other, but April 1st was special.. In duos, the other group was supposed to play Mozart 3rd mvt of the 2 piano sonata (brand new for them), but our coach had emailed me to have our group play through our piece. I initially told them about the possibility of them not having to play, because I didn't know if he meant to switch groups completely, so my friend didn't look at the Mozart at all. Then it became clear that they wouldn't have to play at all... I told one of the pianists, and we made an agreement to tell my friend that they DO have to play the Mozart... so on Sunday (day before class) he spent all morning trying to learn it and they "rehearsed" in the afternoon and everything.... and then..... he wanted to kill me hahahhhahahhahah
