Here's an in depth analysis of Mozart's use of harmony using the latest version of Mapping Tonal Harmony Pro 5.0

Thanks to all the teachers and musicians in this forum for their feedback and input.
The app is now an amazing tool to teach and study tonal harmony, thanks to your help.

In this video we take a look at the main theme of Mozart's Symphony No. 40

It seems very interesting, my only regrets is the fact that the books are not available as PDF. I have read and I understand that most of the page are meant to be written on and that's the reason why it makes no sense to have a pdf version but as a self learner I would have enjoyed the guidance of the manuals (I did buy the windows version of the program though).

I remember looking at this on another site when it was being promoted a while back. I seem to remember that it was a resource that went along with a particular textbook. Having studied this aspect of harmony, I find it interesting to see it represented visually. It reinforces things, if you have already studied it and can look at the display with understanding. I would not want to try to learn via the software for a number of reasons:
- It would make the student passive, hoping that the information would "filter in" while the software does the work
- It looks overwhelming and confusing, because of all the connecting lines (unless you have already studied the material)

TOGETHER with studying, this might be a handy tool. I also noted the terminology in the narration. Each term represents a concept, so again the software makes sense if a student has been studying this material, and maybe the textbook in question.
