Hello,

I'm new on this forum.

My Yamaha Clavinova CVP-70 is switching voice while I'm playing. I set it to Piano 1 and while I'm playing, it will switch to drum of other random voices. Obviously, this is really anoying...

Is anybody familiar with this type of problem? Any suggestions as to how to fix this?

Thank you

Could be a control panel malfunction. If you are competent to do so, you could take out the control panel and open it up and clean out the contacts (under the buttons). A bit like a TV remote, in time the rubberized carbon pads can break down and fragments can short out the contacts. If that's the case, you can clean the fragments out and see if that works. You might have to recoat the rubber pads with conductive paint if they have disintegrated (a product called Keypad Fix).

Aside from that, it would have to be an electronic glitch. Can't suggest much for that besides checking the cable connectors inside are secure.

Thank you Ando, I will look at the carbon behind the buttons. Now that I think of it the buttons are plastic so it must be a different principle than the carbon on rubber remote type...I will look into it.

CALVINOVA: Probably in honor to Jean Calvin

I thought market forces are neutral to the religious, but Yahaha seem to make an exception. laugh
