Performed on a digital using Pianoteq 4 so some (all?) of you may not like the sound.

I don't really know how you achieved it, but I think you solved what I would call the biggest problem with playing this piece extremely well. The problem I'm speaking of is, especially on the first page, not to let the constantly repeated rhythm pattern take over the piece.

Thank you for the kind words! I didn't realize I was overcoming that problem but good to know.

Hi, vid! Actually, the use of the digital piano resulted in some of the subtle and unique modulations being more clear, particularly in the middle section. You did a very nice job with voicing the melody against the upper and lower accompaniment. Especially in the reprise, I'd like to hear more of a whispering quality in the treble, but this was quite nicely gauged. I don't get enough of a "low strings" quality with the Clavinova, and wouldn't be inclined to use it for late Brahms, but your performance indicates how touch-sensitive it can be.

Thanks Tim,

To clarify it was recorded using Pianoteq 4 - the Clavinova is only the midi controller in this case. I agree about the treble in the reprise. I wanted it to "ring" a bit but the resulting sound is just a little bit too harsh.

One thing I like about the piano software is that is provides a much larger palette to work with than the stand-alone Clavinova. There is a lot of tweaking you can do with it so maybe I can try to get a stronger bass.

Great job!! You control very well the voicing and yes, it's hard to stand the melody out in that serie of chords, and I think you did it quite well.

Congratulations and keep it up!! :P
