Yes... only 1 week frown
13 July I'll be on vacations with my family... it's too complicated to reschedule all the stuff...

Correction: As you understood, I wanted to say 20/21 JULY (not June).

Hi,

I've some bad news that I don't go on holiday for next two weeks due the hospitalisation of my mother.

A little bright sight of this, I can come to piano party.

Well, I'm sorry to hear that your mom has to go to the hospital - but what great news that you will be able to join us!

I was wondering... well, it's a kind of weird, but is there any chance to do a Skype connection with Saranoya's computer during the 1st EPP? Just because I'm very sorry for not being able to go and I thought that's a good way to "be" with you for awhile.
It would be a good way to know you all!

Chris, I wish your mother a quick recovery.

@ Carlos: I have nothing in principle against setting up a Skype call with you during the party. However, my Internet connection is not that great. I can't promise there won't be quality distortions and/or lag.

If still interested, PM me your Skype handle.

@ PaperClip: I'm delighted that you will be joining us. Sorry about the circumstances, though. Best wishes to your mother.

Thank you, Carlos and Saranoya

Good news is that my mother is dismissed from the hospital. That's a big relieve for me. Now I can go to the piano party in a relaxed way. smile

It's almost 13th july, btw. smile

Looks like we're going to have good weather !

Not that it is important for the party, but as some of us are planning to take in an outdoor jazz festival that evening...well, it sure helps!

I've got to photocopy some pages - I don't want to be carrying 200 page books!

I think I will do some photocopying myself. I think I have things memorized, but it never hurts to have the music as a safety net!

I am really looking forward to meeting everyone!

Me too! smile
I already made my copies when I learned the pieces, and found a way to fold them so that I only have to turn pages once during a movement. Of course it only will work if I have place for 4 DIN A4 sheets on the tray.
But I'll try to play from memory.

Or we can turn pages for you! smile

I've been practicing without the music but ...well, I know nerves will kick in smile --- I will also bring a few duets for us to play around with and those I definitely need sheet music for!

Ok, so I dreamt about the party last night!

In my dream Sara's apartment had one of the strangest format's I've seen in a long time (I guess my imagination has been well-fed on odd Italian apartments!)..... and the piano was smack in the middle of kitchen. Very interesting!

There were many people there, and as I went about introducing myself, I could see their faces clearly, but when they said their names I couldn't make out what they had said. First people were saying ordinary names, (which I couldn't hear) and then they'd say "oh, my forum name is..." and I would hear just a hint of what they were saying but not enough to figure out who they were!

Then I realized I had forgotten all my music at home!!!!
And I'd forgotten my map of Brussels.

Strangely, in my dream, no one was touching the piano!

So...all in all, I think my dream is pretty much the opposite of what's going to happen smile

Map of Brussels... good idea!

It's a good thing you managed to find Saranoya's place without your map. As dreams go, you probably wouldn't be able to find your phone either!

I am a member of the Hash House Harriers which is a "drinking group with a running problem". We all have HHH names and never use our real names. This sounds like your dream for when we meet each other outside of our little gatherings it doesn't sound right when "twinkle toes" turns out to be John or something.

Have a great party - dead jealous

lol. There was a Hash House Harriers club in Milano when we lived there. I never met any of them but I read about them in ex-pat newsletters - they certainly seemed to have a lot of fun!

This sounds symbolic for our forum relationships. We know, and don't know each other! Very interesting.

No one was touching the piano because we were all afraid to be the first one! I think we will all relax and have a good time at the party, though. This is a such a friendly group, and we are all in the same boat in regards to inexperience in playing in front of others.

We are driving from Switzerland to Brussels, and overnighting in Luxembourg. Today my husband asked the hotel in Luxembourg if they had a piano I could practice on, and they said yes! However, their description was "an antique piano", so who knows what I will be playing on! More fun for the adventure!

Indeed!!! I think that's a good deal of what convinced us all to make the trip!

Have fun with your "antique piano" experience!
...hey - no MOYD problems ! smile

I will get to play before leaving home (with earphones! ) so my Friday is covered - Sunday we'll be back in time to play again!
