My third submission for this bar ^^

Can anyone recommend some pieces at my level? It takes me about 3 days to practice a piece like that, I think it is too simple to contribute to this bar frown I need some pieces not too advanced, but take me about 1 week to finish it. I am at Lone Star Waltz of Afred' Basic Adult Lv 1. Thank you ^^

mattroilanh_tt - memories - this is not too simple for the piano bar. I enjoyed your playing.

I'm not qualified to suggest other pieces. But perhaps one of the others who has been through some of the Alfred's series will be able to suggest something.

Adult beginner since January 2013. My only regret is that I didn't learn sooner.

ElleC. I just noticed you've only been playing since January. Excellent work! Do you read as well?

Simplicity - nice playing, your phrasing matches the rhythm well.

Mussette - good progress on this, especially in the second half---that part where the right hand seems to go in an unexpected direction (bar13 for example) always tries to throw me, but you handle it well.
I wonder if your score matches mine. Mine has separate repeats for the two parts---play part A twice, then part B twice, then part A again.

I didn't have experience with piano but I was in a choir in hs and college so I think having that sense of rhythm and sort of being able to read notes (i'm not really that good at sight reading...though its gotten better since I started playing piano) helped a lot with my progress.

@ ElleC: You play very well. Started at the same time with me but you are far better than me ^^ The phrasing and dynamics are very clear ^^

I have my teacher to thank for that! If i don't have her criticisms and guidance, I think I'd be playing differently. I just try to follow her directions the best I can.

Played with accuracy and confidence. A good beginning is essential, and you have it - Onwards and upwards!

You`re not short of flamboyance in your style. I like that . . . I also remember the Burgmuller pieces like they were yesterday . . . something from my teacher must`ve sunk in . . grin

I like your musical ability. I can't say I know what I'm talking about. Canon in D has caught my interest. A masterpiece. Many different variations on it with piano. Some of these are lower level and some higher. I admit. There is only one piano variation I like. I think you have the musical ability to play this the way it is intended to be played.

A new recording. I haven't played this piece in such a long time. As usual the red dot got the better of me. I couldn't concentrate much. Please watch in high quality not in 360p, the sound is bad otherwise.

I don't have the sheet on it yet. This is an opportunity to possibly find out from others which one this is? Might be common? I will...just a matter of time...I will...obsess over this.
I'll post a youtube. This is not me.

EDIT: You should listen also to the original. With violins. It is stunningly beautiful.

Beautiful performance Teodor and nice piano. You seemed relax in front of red dot. smile

mattroilanh_tt Pachelbel's Canon
There are a couple keyboard transcriptions available on IMSLP, but I am unsure of the difficuly level.

http://imslp.org/wiki/Canon_and_Gigue_in_D_major_%28Pachelbel,_Johann%29

look on the Arrangements and Transcriptions tab in the sheet music section.

-- edit --

In retrospect both have challenges. I'm not sure how useful this will be for you.

This song is soooo way ahead of it`s time. By hundreds of years. It`s the basis for many popular music formats; one could imagine Rihanna singing it in some form or other . .

Teodor - wonderful piece, inspirational to a poor old learner like me.

Surprisingly easy, barely an inconvenience.
