I have recently discovered a couple of apps that will let me record videos and/or audio directly on my Kindle Fire HD (8.9" model). In testing these the sound seems good enough to capture video of my playing, or just audio if that is desired. Not quite as good as my H-1 Zoom, but good enough that I'd like to skip the Zoom's extra step of having to transfer it to a computer before uploading to Box, etc.

My question is... what are folks using to position/secure their tablets when in recording/video mode for the piano? I've looked at all kinds of stands on Amazon, from desktop to clip ons to Microphone stand attachments. Ideally I would like to be able to pop the tablet into some kind of holder without taking it out of its otter box. Of course the holder has to point the tablet at the proper angle to image the hands at the keyboard. Any suggestions out there?

I just have a music stand for sheets. I bought that when I played the violin. It has 2 inch holes in the back plate (it was cheap one), so the angle of the camera can be downwards and upwards as well. With a bit of creativity the camera of the tablet could be positioned at the same place as the hole, so the angle could be downwards.

But there are special music stands for an tablet though for violin players etc. At least voor an iPad. I don't know about other tablets. They would be great for recording piano playing.
