Guys,

I have already bought the Spring 2013 "Piano Buyer". What is in Larry Fine's "The Piano Book" that is not already in "Piano Buyer"? I don't want to make a redundant purchase.

The Piano Book is very different. Much of the brand specific information is better covered in regularly updated Piano Buyer editions. The middle third of the book is largely replaced by the annual supplements, replaced by the regular Piano Buyer editions.

The Piano Book has more general & technical information about pianos, their construction & manufacturing methods that relate to quality and performance. Diagrams. Also details about piano care and numerous details about used piano buying, things to look for.

I couldn't have explained it better... with one other comment:

A considerable portion of The Piano Book's information is out of date.

Totally true! But IMHO the technical and general information alone is worth the purchase price.

The best place for current product information is The Piano Buyer.
