Before I sit down and practice at this piano my fingertips are warm.I start off good ,but after 5-10 mins in, my finger tips have gone cold and my finger accuracy starts to drop off and start sliding on top of the keys.On a hot day I noticed how much better my practice time becomes.
To the touch I'm finding the Roland's all do this with this same key bed .I went to a piano store and tried the roland Hp507 and the keys felt cold ,but then I also played in the same room a Kawai ca65 and to my surprise the keys felt warmer.
Anybody who owns a roland with PHA III ivory feel do you notice this.
My latest thought is to place a oil filled radiator directly under the piano or point a fan heater over the keys.

Could be the wooden keys on the Kawai? wink

Seriously though, I do empathise with your having cold, stiff fingers...especially during the winter. That's why I often play wearing a pair of fingerless gloves - it's actually become something of a trademark. wink

...and I'm in good company too - here's Bernie Worrell of Parliament/Funkadelic:

I don't think a fingerless glove will solve it .Its the tips of my fingers that's in contact with the keys that go cold.

But the gloves make sure the rest of your hand/palm stays warm as they warm up the blood flowing through your hand. I sometimes use them at work as well (I'm a programmer and find it very hard to type correctly with cold and stiff fingers).

I would at least try them if I were you.
