Has anyone tried running an external synth through the built-in speakers of a Roland HP (505, 507, etc) or other similar console digital pianos? How does it sound?

I do it over the FP-80. Sounds good enough.

Cheers,

The reason I ask is because I'm thinking of getting a Roland Integra 7 sound module for additional sounds.

I'm a bit torn on the direction to take: a console DP or a RD-700NX with external speakers. In the past, I owned many synth workstations, though I sold them all when going through a big move. I want to start playing again, focused mainly on piano, but I like having a variety of sounds. If I went the direction of a console DP, the speakers would need to be good enough to run an external sound module through them. Since the speakers are "hidden" in the cabinet, I was wondering if they sounded muffled when playing other types of sounds.

I wold give it a try before you buy...

When you try the console DP, bring
an ipod with some various "synth"
songs on it and a cable (probably 1/8" to 1/4")...
