I have acquired a little no-name Elburn 53" upright. I have gotten it all cleaned out and ready to be tuned! I would just like to know, what is the age? The serial number is 22874, and I went the the blue book of pianos and there was no "Elburn" listing. Anybody have any ideas? The piano has a very big sound, and I'm sure it will be better after I buy a tuning leaver!

The Pierce Piano Atlas lists your piano as made in approx. 1914. The only information listed about Elburn pianos, is that they were made for retailer, J.W. Jenkins Music Co., Kansas City, MO. However, it doesn't list the actual manufacturer.

I miss Jenkins Music Co. It was a fun place for a pianist in the 1980's and the Plaza store was very elegant. That is where most of the Steinways were displayed.

It's much easier to bash a Steinway than it is to play one.

That truck is a Diamond T. The first vehicle I ever owned was a 1941 Diamond T truck, aka restoration candidate.
