In case any of the rest of you like it, too, I transcribed it so it's all written out. Obviously I didn't write it but since the soundtrack of the commercial was written specifically for the commercial, there's no sheet music out there. I thought my daughter might like to take a crack at it, and it's my first attempt at writing out music notes with a computer program!

After I wrote out all the notes, I synced it by measure with the Apple commercial on youtube. Super cool! But if you want to check my work, you can just hear the site play back the notes as written.

It's not showing in the embed, but if you click through, I've attributed to the guy who is credited as the composer. If you print, it comes up, too.

Pretty cool! I had fun! Hope it helps someone. Now back to Chopin.

Surprisingly easy, barely an inconvenience.

It just really caught my attention. It's so simple, but the pulse of it just takes you along. The syncopation, the lovely sixths echoing through... My middle daughter is playing this neat little piece with some interesting syncopation, and she can't get enough of it. This one is probably a smidge over her head once you add the top voice, but I can play that part and once you've got the gist of the underlying bottom rhythm, it's lather, rinse, repeat. And she can learn to pedal better. Plus, she loves it when I sit down and play the teacher parts from her book! Four-hand mother daughter team! Ok, just three. I don't need two hands to play the only remaining seven notes. Hee, maybe I'll post a video!

My immediate reaction was, hmm, tricky to play those descending 16th notes that are sometimes a ninth away from the middle voice. Especially if you are trying to make those runs nicely phrased!

Exactly. But fortunately, once you take that out, the piece is essentially extraordinarily simple. Obviously, the phrasing is what makes it, but that's what my daughter loves to do, once she gets the gist of something!

Very lovely, and what software did you use? How did you sync it with YouTube like that? It's awesome.

Edit: I just noticed it is NoteFlight. I have to try it out. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you so much! I just saw this commercial and was thinking what a beautiful piano piece it was. Did a search and imagine my surprise to find it here!

Nice, I did not see this noteflight tool before, and it's neat that you can plug it into the post here right away

- it would be a worthwhile exercise for someone to write out the RH timing properly, at the moment it breaks all the rules and I think would be more or less impossible to sight read - unless you'd already heard the music.

This piece is simple but elegant. Thanks for putting it together for us!
