[s][/s]What is the prettiest Bach piece after your opinion?
I'll have to go with the Concerto in F Minor Movement Largo.

For me it's the C# major prelude of the Well Tempered Clavier. Both Book I and (especially) Book II.

For some reason, I really like the Gould/Golschmann team.

Any way, there's also this:

I too love the Largo from the F Minor Concerto. But here's another Largo that I think is even better. smile

Sinfully beautiful.

Another Largo

A few very beautiful Bach transcriptions chosen partially because they may be less familiar to some PW posters:

Bach-Fryer:Sarabande from the 6th Cello suite
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITbcJMKVmts

Bach-Feinberg:Largo from Organ Sonata
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IoW8nhcJick

Bach-Cohen:Liebster Jesu, wir sind hier
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jjjMGCl030

Bach-Chiu:Erbarme Dich from the St. Matthew Passion
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rfkHYQ41gpI

Feel free to PM me if you want the scores for any of the first three and cannot find them at I'm Asleep.

Strangely, just last week I made a series of Facebook posts about the Concerto in F-Minor Largo and quoted Douglas Adams to compliment my (completely subjective) assertion that the melody therein was the most beautiful in the universe:

The Quote: "Beethoven tells you what it's like to be Beethoven and Mozart tells you what it's like to be human. Bach tells you what it's like to be the universe."

Could I just pick the whole of WTK II? I love all the pastel colors and rich harmonies.
