Hi Friends,
I am taking piano classes for 2 weeks. I have a PSR-E403 now.
when should I upgrade to a digital Piano? My teacher has an acoustic kawai.

I wish to have good sound and proper key action.

I have short listed a few what do you suggest, any others apart form these below?
I also include the prices in my city here. (similar to Germany)

Yamaha P105 $900 with out stand and pedals.
Casio PX 805 $1300
Kawai CN 34 $1851
Yamaha 430 $2092
Yamaha 440 $2685

any other models you can suggest me
I don't think I can spend more than this now.
The music stores here don't have any instruments, its more like a ordering thing. Store persons cannot help me in any ways they
have no knowledge in music.
when I asked for Casio Px 805 he said don't take any casio, instead take p105.He doesn't like casio (he never tried them).

Except for yamaha 430, i cant test any other instrument mentioned above. which instrument do you suggest me? My budget is around $2000.

thank you smile

Hmm, considering your budget, I'd say it's a toss between the CLP-430 and the CN34. Both are pretty decent pianos.

It's unfortunate that the store clerks cannot help you in any way as is the unavailability of pianos for a try-out. There are also many proponents of Casio pianos on this forum and from what I have heard, their products are on the rise in terms of quality and features. I would not disregard Casio but if you're willing to use up all your budget or maybe stretch it a little (after all, the CLP is a bit above the margin), the Yamaha and the Kawai would probably be the models I'd be looking at.

HTH smile

FWIW --

The Yamaha P155 is better (in all ways) than the Yamaha P105. It is within your budget. I suggest that -- if you can really afford $2000 -- you should remove the P105 from your list, and add the P155.

PS -- I have a Casio PX-350, and it does what I need it to do. The built-in loudspeakers are weak, and I'm going to buy a rather large "power monitor" loudspeaker to replace them. For the extra money, I could have gotten a PX-850. But it wouldn't be as portable as the PX-350 with a loudspeaker.

Trade-offs, trade-offs, trade-offs . . . <g>
