When we play worship in my church we have to use headphones to monitor ourselves in order to keep stage volume down. However most of the band only have those cheap earbuds that came with their cell phones... and they sound horrible for this purpose.

Can anyone recommend good in-ear monitors? I also want to keep the price below $50 so that things don't get too expensive.

Any advice is appreciated.

These are really good sounding for 10-15$, and you'll find lots of good reviews indeed. Besides you find this product almost everywhere.

(Why the heck do we feel to commit ourselves to this kind of digital labour to promote and review products we have no financial nor personal interest in them being sold or not after all? Why has the average newbie always to come in asking for our precious time having searched for nothing on his own first, why do we answer to this kind of call in the first place? Do I need so much to be liked to alienate 10 minutes of my Sunday morning?)

And then think about the time wasted reading this thread and posting this comment. Just awful, I tell you!

I own a couple of pairs of these and they function quite well for the money:

You have to consider do you want to be separated from stage sound or not. Closed headphones or in-ear ones will isolate you, while earbuds or open ones won't. Both solutions have advantages and disadvantages.

Sound quality would be more important for me in that regard. So having sound isolation wouldn't be too big of an issue.

I've purchased about 5 different in-ears/earbuds in the past few months (in about the $20 price range), but none of them have sound quality that's up to par... so I thought I'd ask here to see if anyone had any satisfactory experience on using in-ear type headphones for their digital piano.

At first I thought I'd say something along the lines of "good in-ear monitors for 50 bucks?" but then I had a look at my trusted resource on these things and it did reveal some interesting in-ears for a nice price. Denon are renowned for their quality products so I'd say these fit the bill in pretty much every aspect. wink

EDIT: Bah, scratch that... They come with a microphone too. :[ Anyway, if you're willing to check some out for yourself, have a look here and see if some of these recommendations suit your fancy.

So you do want to get information about the good products around, but you don't care giving information about the bad ones you encountered, isn't life great?

Sorry, tried to include a photo last time, but it didn't work out, must be a browser issue...

Thank you for this link. Of that list the Polk Audio UltraFit 500 looks very interesting to me. I like that it has the loop around for your ear as some of my fellow musicians have issues with there existing earphones falling out.

I'll look up more reviews on this pair.
