Could this be the answer? At ze moment, I`m using the 5 track on my piano which is fine but limiting. Now, 5 tracks is about 3 more than is usually offered these days unless you want a Casio, or an old Yamaha/Roland/Technics pig of a piano which churns out hundreds of instruments and styles which I do appreciate . . .
It also would free me up to acquire a more modern instrument should a suitable replacement be invented in the forseeable future . . .
Anybody have any dealings with an add on Recorder? (not software!!) Thanks .

Boss BR800 8-track. Built in effects and rhythms and can record four tracks simultaneously so if you want to sing or get a guitarist or friend over to join in it's all good. Much quicker and more intuitive than messing around on a computer if you ask me. I'm very tempted myself at the moment...or there's Zoom (their 8-track can only record two simultaneously and with those needed for left and right (stereo) piano there's no scope for singing or anything else unless you are happy to overdub). The Zoom 16 track though records eight simultaneously. Both have built in stereo condenser mics too and they can have their uses in rehearsals etc. So there are decent options out there...

I`m grateful for this and other responses I`ve had on other postings; I`ll certainly look into this more! Cheers man; BTW, can each track handle stereo samples? Bloody hope so . . .

BTW, can each track handle stereo samples? Bloody hope so . . . No, that is an issue. You need a track for left and a track for right coming from the piano. So that's two tracks for stereo piano. But the Boss will record four tracks at the same time. Enough for most solo performers (piano and voice or whatever).
