Need a stage piano advice

Hey guys;
I'm a jazz pianist living in the Netherlands. I'm looking for a nice stage piano with a very good piano feel. Nothing else. I currently have a Korg SV-1, it has nice variety of rhodes sounds but it's piano samples really suck.
Since the music I'm playing is mostly acoustic, I just need a good piano simulator that I can carry around easily. The price range is the same as the Korg SV-1.
Thanks for the advice in advance!

Yes, agree , the SV-1 APs are not too good for jazz. Perhaps try the Yamaha CP33 or P155. Those aren't too bad. I recently played the P105 for the first time and really didn't care at all for it. The sound or the action. If you like the Roland stuff-maybe the new FP-50 or the older 300NX. Haven't tried the 50 so can't comment. Although another very fine, discerning jazz pianist on the KC forum just replaced his older FP4 with the FP50...so worth checking out. They are somewhat hard to find around LA, but I am curious about it, based on his impressions. Definitely not a fan of the 300NX (or the FP4-F). It's just too much of a step down from the 700NX for me. Maybe one of the Casios will work for you. They're very popular. Personally there isn't anything in that class/price range that I find inspiring enough to buy and even have as a second keyboard.. My favorites are, in order- Yamaha CP5, Nord Piano 2 and Roland 700NX. I know all are in a different price and weight class though (with the exception of the weight on the Nord) but again, I don't seem to find these entry level keyboards much fun to play on-despite the lower price and weight . Ymmv there.

It seems to be about 90% of the CP5 you like, albeit with the action of the CP33/P155. But it's about the same price and weight as the SV1 (88).

That slipped my mind. I actually prefer it over both the CP33 & P155. Also forgot about the Kawai MP6. I'd go with the Yamaha CP50 personally, but many opt for the MP6 over the CP50.

I would certainly check out the px5s , it's amazingly lightweight and the EP's are pretty good and due to the amount of available EQ , compressors , Amp simulations and effects very tweakable. The keybed plays very nice (IMHO much better than the SV1 !) , but due to the weight and price savings , the cabinet seems to lack some sturdy structural support for the weighted keys, which makes them a bit noisy. The DO their job fine, but its not the quietest keybed you'll get. Something that may not even be an issue at all in a live performance only in a very quiet room perhaps...
AP sounds are fine for live and cut nice through , also because the PX5 is so tweakable. It is NOT Roland SN or the best of Yamaha's or KAWAI's in depth and fullness of the sound, but not bad. Try it and see if you like it.
Other contenders are indeed the Fp50 and hopefully an upcoming MP6 successor (someday ;-).

So JFP, you found the PX5S acoustic piano sound to be a lot better than the SV1?

I'm with Dave all the way. The CP5/NP2 would be my first choice since the action is phenomenal and the sounds are great live. I've had 2 Nord Pianos, the first model and now the NP2 and I am extremely happy with the AP sounds. The best variety. The EPs are amazing as well. The free Piano Library, Sample Library, the 1st class build quality, software updates, ease of use live, the weight/dimensions, are all reasons why I've owned 3 Nords-I also had a Nord Electro 3 61. I'd really love to go ahead and get the Nord Stage 2 with all of the other capabilities, but for that price I can pick up a used CP1 which may be the coolest stage piano ever. Too bad they're so heavy. That's where Nords have a bug advantage for live work/gigging musicians.

The problem with the Nord suggestion is that they have no weighted-key model anywhere near the price range the OP is looking in.

For OP why not just get a Musebox? It has a very nice software piano that is much better than the one inside the SV1. Its not as good as some software pianos out there but much better than what you already have. Its small enough to place almost anywhere. Setup one of favorite the buttons on the SV1 to call up that with local off and your all set. It also has a host of other sounds you might find useful. And at $999 it certainly meets your price requirements.
