Great job, MiaoW! I love the transparent lucidity of your playing, and the attention to rhythmic precision in the SLOOOOW Prelude. I also agree totally with the "walking" tempo for the Fugue.

What edition of the WTC do you use? Do you have a specific model for the ornamentation in the Prelude, or are the ornaments choices of your own design? Also, do you have an overall favorite pianist for the WTC, and if os, why? This is just out of curiosity.

Hi Tim,

Thank you so much for patiently listening to my playing.

I use a URTEXT edited by Otto von Irmer with some references like the analysis published by Alfred Music Publishing and the titled in Chinese 'compass book' by Rosalyn Turek. Besides I receive my teacher's suggestion. My favorite pianists on WTC are Schiff, Turek, and Richter. The ornamentations are based on all the paper and audio materials I have and with the notion that I try my best to make even and natural ornamentations.

Roger

Bravo! I love this set, and this was very well-played. Like Tim, I really appreciate the clarity of your playing. The prelude sounds ethereal at that slow speed and it's impressive that you're able to maintain the line. The tempo of the fugue was also perfect for my taste, and all the voices came out crystal clear. The one comment I might make is that it seemed a bit flat dynamically. I think it might help to find places to rise and fall. Also, I think you could make more of the important cadences, whether through dynamic changes, rubato, or anything else. It may offend some people's "historically informed" sensibilities, but it's how I (and my teachers, and most musicians I work with) prefer to hear Bach.
