So the wind symphony at my university was brave enough to let me program this piece this past year (kudos to them for taking on such a difficult piece). The piano writing alternates between fairly dense chordal textures and neo-baroque counterpoint and is always integrated into the orchestral part. It's a wonderful concerto and not performed nearly enough!

I've had a particular fondness for this concerto since way back in the 1960's, when I was a teen and, for some reason that I don't even remember, I got a recording by Seymour Lipkin, Bernstein, and the NY Phil. I was captivated, and proceeded to wear the grooves out on that LP.

Your playing of it was amazingly close to my imprinted sense of how it goes; it was delightful to hear. Of course, the accompaniment wasn't the NY Phil wind players of the Bernstein era, but I admired their pluck, nevertheless.

You do this so well...it would be great to hear you in some of Stravinsky's other neo-Classical piano stuff, too.

This was a nice treat. I do like Stravinsky. 3rd movement is my favorite with heavy chordal textures.

yay, cool! I'll have a listen to this later - has been too much piano muzak going on lately with the cliburn, but certainly refreshing to listen to something else than standard concertos for once!
