I've read another thread on movie original scores. Still I would like to ask.
I'm just a beginner pianist. Goal is to compose. I'm a good lyricist already. I'm working on an easy version of Shindler's List Theme.
My teacher tends to send me on wild goose chases for the sake of what I learn in the research. She wants me to gather the harder versions of Shindler's List Theme. The big one is that she wants me to obtain the Original. At this point it is just to look at. To compare. To see the progression to most difficult.
From what I have read here. The Original is not obtainable. I need to depend on someone like Kyle Landry, an arranger, to come up with as close to Original as possible?
I know, with it being John's music. The original is in piano. That's how he writes.
As long as I'm at it. There is only one version of Canon in D piano, that I really like. Haven't seen any sheet music on it. This version is 9 minutes long. Twice as long as most. How would I go about tracking it down?
