I tuned this really cool Story & Clark grand from the 40's. It has an extra lid and baffles on the soundboard. Has anyone seen one like this before? By the way, it sounded very nice. I was impressed!

Yes. I regularly serviced this model of S&C in Little Rock for a client who later sold it. Believe it still had the original bench too. As I recall, action work required a bit more disassembly of the case than the usual grand. Had neither seen one of these before nor since. Thanks for the post.

BTW: Enlarging the photo I seem to recognize a braille piano tuner's sticker-card? Déjà vu?

I've got several of those including 3 with consecutive serial numbers. Starbird Yamaha in Portland Maine has a restored version on their website in the used piano section.
