Hello everyone, I am new to this forum but would like to get some help from some of you. My mother recently requested I help her sell her piano since it is no longer used. Although I have plenty of experience in the music industry with production and engineering. I have zero knowledge when it comes to a piano.

If anyone can help with possible year, current market value and any other information that you feel I should know it would be greatly appreciated.

Details:

High Gloss Black Baby Grand
excellent condition, nothing wrong with the piano or the finish.

Exterior states Fletcher & Sons
under the hood it has a Hyundai emblem (from my research that is not a high quality piano)
Model # is G-80A
serial number 811455

Also, does anyone know the best way to sell a piano? I will try craigslist of course but if you know of better options please let me know.

Thank you for your time and help.

J Greene

It was made by Samick in South Korea at least 30 years ago. The G-80 model is 5'1", among the smallest made. In perfect condition, it would be worth something under $3,000; damage or wear would of course reduce that value.

I suggest contacting the last person to tune it. You may be able to get a rough idea of its condition over the phone.

Craig's List is a good place to start, since it's local. You can also advertise here or on other places such as pianomart.com. There is helpful information on selling and buying pianos at www.pianobuyer.com.

Thank you very much for the response and taking time to look into it for me. It appears in perfect condition and all keys are in great working order. It was purchased some 20 years ago from a local Dr. that used it as furniture and did not know how to play. Its to bad it was not a better brand piano for the condition it is in.
