Here is an ad on ebay for a free Ivers and Pond concert grand piano. I'm sure it's a fixer upper, and it's in the San Fancisco area, but if it's your cup of tea, here is the url. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Grand-piano-free-for-the-price-of-transport-/330945925900

I'm not connected to the piano in any way - just ran across the ad on ebay.

Just by looking at it, the likelihood of it needing a $30,000 restoration is pretty high. The $4,000 "buy it now" price is just... not realistic.

That's exactly what I thought, beethoven986.

Considering the price that a full restoration would be for it, realistically, it'll only go for a couple of hundred I expect.

It's in Augusta, Maine. San Francisco is mentioned as the city for which the seller estimated the cost of shipping.

Considering it can be shipped anywhere in the lower 48 for 500.00 via a dealer carrier. You would still have to have it picked up via local movers if it was at a place where there was no help or no 18 wheeler access. 4000? Is that transported in a gold plated crate?. If the interior is as rough looking as the outside I'd say its a huge gamble. I picked up one last year in some middle of no where mountain resort of Maine and transported it to TN. The hardest part of the job was getting to the site from Portland which took 5 hours on a two lane road.

The shipping is nothing more than a guess from an uninformed seller!

"Shipping price below is an estimate for completely cross country: Maine to San Francisco."

It's still sitting at $0.99 with no bids. Good price!

I've asked the seller to clarify the deal. I'll post an update when I hear back.

I like the way he keeps in in a little pen! Like a pet bunny or something.

Well, if you decide to pass on that ebay deal, here's another terrific bargain:
