Thanks for this video John. Alison is one of my favorite female singers. She actually grew up not too far from here. Check her song "Ghost in this House" sometime on U-Toob. When hubby and I split, I played it `till the tears went away for good. grin

At first, she only flew when she thought no one was watching.

Congrats!! I'm so jealous!! (I have 24 years if I am fortunate enough to retire at 62.5 - I choose to believe in this particular delusion right now)

Thank you for the pop music Recaredo - I always love that stuff!

Thanks for all of the good music today. TJ, I enjoyed "the Boxer". Thanks also for the good wishes Farm Girl, Recaredo and Aimee. As for my piano plans, my teacher is helping to get a couple of pieces completed by year's end. If all goes well I will have some more video performances later this year.

I am definitely looking forward to increased piano time! smile

You're welcome - I've seen Alison in concert 5 times in various places and have most of her CDs - she is a very special and an awesome talent...

I've made it one of my missions to convince people that there is no better selection than to choose her recordings to be stranded on a desert island with - although her recordings themselves should be incentive enough - but there are certain stubborn individuals (no names mentioned here) who are somewhat mysteriously resistant to that obvious logical choice (merely and mainly to deny me satisfaction, I suspect laugh ).

Aimee, glad you liked "La torre de la vela".

Nice bike, Becca, it looks like the old Honda CB 750. I think Rossy had one of those bikes.

Some baroque music just to close the door of that room called "daily problems". This performance on Telemann's music is so fascinating.

Happy weekend to everyone!

Welcome back, Becca! The bike looks great. I know you're excited!

I had the weirdest dream last night. I wish I remembered the details. It was something about me about to go into English jail for something dumb. But Rossy apparently spoke to the queen and I was let go,and it was some sort of national event.

I watched Rum Diaries before going to bed,so that accounted for the jail part, but I have no idea where the rest came from.

What an odd dream, Aimee! At least you were lucky that Rossy and the queen were good friends.

Here is a lovely video on contemporary music written by two young composers. I think this little film even helps understand this genre, always full of expressiveness. I loved it.

I haven't been around here for a while. Hi. That's a great version of The Boxer.

Hi! This thread looks quiet lately. I hope you all are doing well.

Some music by Tartini: his cello concerto in D major. I think the third movement of this concerto is one of the most beautiful and saddest piece of music ever written. Just my two cents.

Good night!

An old but very funny sketch on the piano, just for a laugh.

Now time to come back to the Grieg, using headphones, you know here it's late.

Hey everybody, wherever you might be...
I heard this today. Never heard of her, but I really liked it.
Apparently Ray Davies wrote it originally; Cher, Chrissie Hynde, and a couple of others recorded it. Will have to look up Chrissie's.

This chick's got a great voice. Will have to see what else she's done.
