I'm afraid it's down to personal preference, as always with sounds. I really like the Krome's EPs, and the action works, even if it's not the greatest. The PX is also capable of some great EPs, and I think it definitely wins the Wurlitzer EP200A emulation contest. The PX action is also very good considering the weight. Both boards have a lot of control available, with assignable controls and deep menu access - although the Krome's touchscreen is definitely easier to deal with. If I was really pressed, I'd have to give the edge to the Krome in terms of sound, and to the PX for its action.

Then you might want to compare the PX-5S with the Korg SV-1 and the Nord Electro/Piano/Stage.

I LOVE!!!! the look of the sv1 but I think I remember reading the krome was a step up in electric pianos from the sv1...is that right? even with the latest sound pack?

I prefer the EP's on the Krome but even though I have the same NH action as the Krome 88 in my SP280 I would probably prefer the Casio action if I had the choice.

I don't think it's necessarily a step up - just different. There's perhaps something a little more "alive" about the SV-1's EPs, although the Krome is very good, too.

Has anyone here tried the new korg kross? The 88 key comes with wieghted keys and from what I here from you tube the piano sounds pretty decent,it also only wieghs 27 lbs. and cost 999 dollars. It,s considered a work station and it has a lot of nice sounds but no speakers.
