So she came to Italy again! A long night (3 hours!) in Ravenna with some great musicians at her side.

It turned out an informal evening where everybody (except Martha, of course) chatted with the audience. The 90-year-old violinist Ivry Gitlis put up quite a show in the first part, as he wanted the lights on on the audience, so he could see us, and then kept taking his glasses on and off and eventually lost his place in the score when he was playing a Cesar Franck sonata with Martha, so that she had to go back to the beginning. But perfection is boring, isn't it?

The second half of the program was all tango, and it was exhilarating. Enrico Fagone is a real showman with his double bass.

I got home at 4 am but boy, was it worth it!

P.S.: I'm posting this here as we're among friends in the ABF... hope nobody minds.

Gitlis! Wow! (Sorry, but that's the part that caught my eye. He's one of a kind.)

Oh he is. I went there for Martha, no doubt, but I was more than happy to have the chance to listen to a living legend like him.
