Hi there,

I'm in the market to buy a piano and I am about to look at two pianos from a piano technician in Toronto. My correspondence with him has seemed a bit... off, so far, so I'm just wanting to know if anyone has heard of this gentleman.

His name is Art. His e-mail address name is "g woods' (with a very generic gmail address) and he has told me he has been rebuilding pianos for 30 years. His pianos are apparently in a storage facility on the outskirts of the city.

Any info for some peace of mind would be greatly appreciated. smile

Edit: Spelling and additional info.

*maybe* you'll run into someone here.

But I already have the impression that it's a small world. Tuners, restorers, and dealers (music stores) all seem to know each other, either first hand or at least some sort of gossip.

Call up some tuners in Toronto, or a music shop, etc., and ask them.

You can also simply bring another technician with you (pay something) to examine the 2 pianos you're looking at.
If he's selling overpriced lemons, your own tech coming with you should catch it.
If you're looking at genuine coin, it'll be the best $50 ever spent.
