I am looking to buy one of two pianos for sale in Southern California and I need a referral to someone who can evaluate both and make a recommendation before I come in to see it (I live in Las Vegas). One is a Baldwin L in Encinitas; the other, a Knabe 6'4" Can anyone recommend a good technician rather than relying on a blind choice from the Piano Technicians Guild? Also, since the piano will end up back in Vegas, can anyone recommend a piano mover who is reasonable in price to transport the instrument? Thank you.

For the north coast of San Diego county, I recommend Rick Clark.

He's a superstar tech.

Heymjo,

On your way down stop by and see what I've got for sale.............lol.

Seriously, I know a few great tuners but I would have to know the specific area. Los Angeles county is 465 square miles and SoCal is practically a state! Can't help on the Baldwin (in SD area and operatenor has that covered) but where's the Knabe located?

I was disappointed with our movers (moved both pianos) so can't help there........blob

Suggest you contact David Chadwick (in Vegas) for referrals on both your needs. David should have a good handle on a reliable mover, and he certainly will know good techs in the LA area.

For LA, I do know David Anderson is quite good. As he also rebuilds, he'd be a solid connection for a proper evaluation of the instruments, or again; he'd know the best person in the soup-bowel....errrr....LA area.

Both info/contacts are available on the PTG website (find a technician).

Fair enough?
Smiling,
