Plenty get close enough to the discerning pianist as to make little difference.

Hmm, I'm not convinced by your "logic", incidentally, sorry and all that but my "hopeless digital fad"( a glorious Roland RD 700NX, plays and sounds just like a real grand piano, see above) didn't come anywhere near emptying my account, I'm quite well off at the moment, please, don't worry about my fanancial situation. In fact, it seems I could advise you.
Perhaps if you spend less time on forums and worked harder?

The "idiots" in the acoustic piano biz are not resposible for the lack of soundproofing in the house or flat you live in, architects are.

Perhaps the "idiots" who design houses and flats should be aware of the need to increase soundproof rooms in order to improve the acoustic piano biz for the "idiots" who work in that?

Violinists are idiots. Many pianists hold shares in electric companies, get wise, buy in!

StarvingLion...a troll on a mission.

Making the world unsafe for digital pianos, one post at a time.

I will have to ask Tom Lee if they include a 'sound proof' studio in the price of a Steinway D.

StarvingLion doesn't so much need a sound-proof room, as a fully padded room.

He doesn't need one. He has one! (And they've given him with a voice-activated laptop.)

"a glorious Roland RD 700NX, plays and sounds just like a real grand piano"

Yeah, right. I guess thats why the RD700NX costs $2600 and the V-Piano $7000.

The V-Piano doesn't even have the action of a concert grand.

I'm starting the solid wooden keys revolution in digital pianos. Get'em now or be square!

I would probably go with a KronosX 88 if I won the lottery.
Right now though I am very happy with my Korg SP280 and 61 key Krome.

If money were no object I would likely get a Steinway D and a Baldwin grand. When I win powerball i will get a Yamaha grand as well lol.
