so i expressed to my teacher i'd like to eventually do improv and be able to just hit the piano and go. he then gave me some blues stuff which i thought would be lame. but in the lesson he kind of showed me how it went and typical rhythmic style it has. It SOUNDED fun and watching him play it looked like a blast! I got the left hand chord progression down and i'm working on the right hand now. lots of 3rds and very bouncy and you can really get into it!! So far I'm having more fun doing that worksheet than the music i'd downloaded from musicnotes.com!

Yessssss!
One of my friends showed me a blues bass line and I was able to join in (really lamely, but I joined in) an improvised piece with 3 other musicians. What a hoot!

Try Googling "Tim Richards" in this Forum -- he's got a really good blues textbook.
