Yes, I have seen hammers exactly like those on a 100+ year old Collard and Collard upright. They did not look original however. Seemed to make a good tone.

Sure have .... seen them in green and grey. Not often though, but there again I dare say being in the game for so many years I think maybe I have come across most strange things not normally regarded as the norm.

I've never seen green hammers like that, but I did tune a piano a while back where all of the other felts were done in purple. Looked fancy!

Honky-tonk was sometimes performed in saloons, etc., on old uprights with open front and rather gaudy embellishments on hammers and harp. Have even seen thumbtacks placed in the strike points for added tonk to the honky.
