What do you guys think? Basically it plugs in via MIDI and generates notes based on rules you give it and you just go. Its supposed to help with sight reading and I can see why it would.
Seems awesome because of being able to pick keys and ranges of notes to focus on.

I think i saw a site (non-sourceforge developer's site) saying that this project was no longer being updated.

PrestoKeys can do very similar things, and it has a nice glossy interface to access a lot of different parameters of difficulty and content. If you get the paid version (~$30something?) then you can plug your midi piano in and go.

It cal also read in MIDI files and make you play them (but I don't find that part cosucive to making good music... maybe the interface throws me off?)

As a beginner, you should be guided by more advanced piano players.

When I sit down at the piano, I obviously have some music in front of me. I first read through the music to be sure that I know all the names of the notes in the entire piece and then I read through the music again to make sure I can count all of the values of the notes in the measures of the piece. So having done that there should be do surprises or show stoppers and then I read the music and say the notes of the piece as I play the notes slowly without mistakes. So I don't need anything special to read and play music other than the music on the music stand.
