To ease Dara's insomnia, let me assure HIM and anyone else who has an interest that I am fine.

I got an e-mail a while back informing me that I had become a thread topic here, but I didn't want to get involved. If the thread was deleted or locked, I'm good with that. I've never been a supporter of threads about members whatever the motivation.

Basically, this forum had gotten tedious for me. That's not a criticism. It's just that its content tends to be cyclical, especially since the industry which serves as its topic is far more static than dynamic. I had been reading here for about seven years and posting for five or six. Time for a change. PW is what it is, with or without me.

Also, my wife and I had gotten involved in a book project about the influence of social media on the art world, and I needed to get serious. I'm one of those unfortunate souls who indulges in endless procrastination unless a deadline is looming. My wife's the same. The result can be quite horrible.

So no worries and no fuss. As one of the mods put it, I'm free to participate at any time here, so I'm not about to close any doors.

If anyone wants to reach me.....

While it is certainly true that PW will exist without you (something that is true for most of us who post here), it will be a less interesting place. I hope that you keep a bit of an eye on what goes on here, as I have certainly enjoyed your posts in the past.

Your book has a very interesting topic--good luck with it!

Best of luck with the book project. I'm new to the forum, but read it frequently before I registered. Your posts have been informative, helpful and most interesting. Glad I could enjoy your comments before your decision to step back. Hope you check in, in the future with your insight and humor.

Well-said, and I wholeheartedly agree.
