I am going through my iTunes library and am DJ-ing for myself. So far I have played:

- Adagio for TRON (Daft Punk)
- Derezzed (Daft Punk)
- Symphony No. 3, final movement (Saint Saen)
- Adagio, strings arrangement (Samuel Barber)
- Egmont Overture (Beethoven) [I miss playing this and the 5th Symphony with the orchestra]
- Elements - Fire (Michael McLean)

Playing now:
- Finale Op. 52 (Robert Schumann) [also miss playing this with the orchestra]

Next up:
- Concerto in E minor, 4th movement (Edward Elgar) [still remember playing this with the orchestra]
- Symphonic Dances, 1st movement (Sergei Rachmaninov)
- Libertango (Astor Piazzolla) [my teacher played the piano part in this CD!]
- Explosive (Bond)

My music at ze moment is rock/heavy metal. It stops me sleeping when I should be driving, seriously. Joe Cocker is the best . . .but there`s a load of great stuff I`ve missed out on. What fun . . most o` the performers are my age, or dead!

I often listen to anime music. NOT Dragonball Z or Pokemon, but real anime. A lot of great composers are writing stuff for them, here's a sample:

Right this second I'm listening to the "Oblivion" soundtrack by M83. The music is better than the movie was, imo.

More recently, I've gotten hooked on "Sinnerman" by Nina Simone. I'm not a huge jazz fan, but this song is something else:

I've also been listening to Peter Broderick. He's hard to pigeonhole; he's got one instrumental, new age-ish album that's just lovely ("Float"), but he also does quiet indie folk that makes me think it's what Simon and Garfunkel would sound like if they were still recording together. I love this quiet, haunting song about a man who is drowning:

Studying all of the above.

I'm currently listening to the Rachmaninoff cello and piano sonata. Earlier today I listened to a lot of Bach keyboard music - numerous WTC selections and a couple Partitas. Next up is probably a Chopin concerto or the B minor sonata.

Grappelli playing Gershwin hits ... presently
"Our Love is Here to Stay" ... remember Gene Kelly and Leslie Caron dancing at sunset beside the Seine ... to my mind one of the most charming bits of dance in the movie "An American in Paris".

PS Bach, Beethoven and Brahms pall ... need a bit of fresh air.

There's no fresh air in Bach, Beethoven, or Brahms? I'm afraid I'll have to violently disagree.

Some great music to be found there. It's a shame the sheet music isn't more available. What you usually find is some amateur transcription. They should get on that. They could be making some good money selling the sheet music. Video game music too.

At the moment I have given Ludovico Einaudi's Time Lapse a little rest and returned to my itunes top 50 most played list. Starts with Glasshammer - Having Caught a Glimpse 13:23 of symphonic rock gold

So much of Chopin's Ballade No. 1 right now. My favorites so far are the Ashkenazy and Zimerman recordings. I just started working on this piece.
